Movie Review: The Duff (’15 Ari Sandel)

The Duff brought back the same feels of “Bring It On”, Cluelessand the iconic “Mean Girls”. The film is surprisingly entertaining. I’m not saying the film was written at its best but it was able to boast some great plot twist, potmodern themes and a relatable premise. The actors were also on point with their roles with all of them oozing with so much charisma, personality and great screen presence. The film isn’t so hard to take in and there’s a simple vibe about it that is easy to embrace and root for. It’s heartwarming too which is unusual for a high school themed-comedy. It was also pleasant and warm. All in all the film has both wit and charm that I in particular like and end up liking the film more than what I expected it to be. The film is wonderful to be honest and Robbie Amell is hot, OMG! 7.5
