Movie Review: Poltergeist (’15 Gil Kenan)

A remake of a classic horror tale, here is a contemporize version about a family whose home is haunted by evil spirit. A typical story and the narrative is usual in this genre. But here’s the thing about the film, sure the quality of visuals is better thanks to modern technology, the film offers nothing more than what is expected. It became predictable, occasionally scary and lame. The film wasn’t bad but it didn’t really measure up to be better. It lacks focus – or there is – it didn’t really show dynamics. Nonetheless, the film isn’t completely bad but I must say, I might have expected a little bit more than what was served. 6
