Movie Review: The Love Affair (’15 Nuel C. Naval)

How to differentiate this film to the previous Star Cinema offerings (The Mistress, No Other Woman)? Look while the attempt and effort to offer something fresh, there is nothing fresh about this film at all, especially if the genre calls for something as predictable as the premise it could be. Now, do I hate it? No. But the predictable phasing, flawed writing and bland script made the film an underwhelming project. Bea Alonzo, as usual, shines due to her effortless and nuanced acting. That girl is a pro. Other than that, I find “The Love Affair” as something you sit down and expect it to be and then you get it but less impressed as the whole film went by. 4.5
