Movie Review: Heneral Luna (’15 Jerrold Tarog)

If someone will tell me that Heneral Luna is a Filipino-made film, I will for sure doubt that person and give him a slap. But Heneral Luna was a breath of fresh air from the cliché kind of films that were usually made in mainstream Filipino film. It was a rousing journey with emough entertainment and hilarity. The film didn’t just play along with historic facts and serious storytelling, it tried to break the ice with some good chuckle and outstanding acting ensemble. In particular, John Arcilla was superb as the lead. I am in awe with his layered performance. The visuals were also stunning and the action packed film was crafted with ease and fantastic phasing! Great job. 8
