Movie Reviews: The Revenant (’16 Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu)

Starring: Leonardo di Carpio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter, Domhnall Gleeson…
Director: Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu
Genre: Drama

The Revenant‘s winniest moment is in how its lead stars gave life to the characters they were portraying. I am blown away from Will Poulter’s nuanced performance to Tom Hardy’s solid delivery. But out of all, it was Leonardo di Carpio who naturally shines as he effortlessly took to heart his character Hugh Glass. The cinematography is impressive and nothing to take away from the narrative. The story telling felt a bit dragging in parts but who cares when you are given a treat that is outstanding and remarkable. The Revenant is visceral and riveting. It was just an intense experience. Really. 8
