Movie Review: The 5th Wave (’16 J Blakeson)

Starring: Chloë Grace Moretz, Liev Schreiber, Maika Monroe, Nick Robinson…
Director: J Blakeson
Genre: Sci-Fi

You see I never really had big expectations with The 5th Wave. Less expecations, lesser disappointments. With a blank tabeau going in, I must say that I am fairly thrilled and entertained with the totality of the film. It boasts a good amount of entertainment value from the impressive cinematography to the performances of its lead and support. Sure the film lacks consistent writing and better transitions, but it was decent. There are sequences though that felt contrived but for most part, it was actually pretty compelling with a good amount of excitement. The 5th Wave had managed to give what it could give at its best with flaws that are forgivable and an end product that is recommendable at least. 6
