The Voice 9: 20 Best Performances (Wrap-Up)

It’s the culmination of the 9th season The Voice and yes it was that fast! This show needed some season break interval at some point but I guess the ratings and impact is still giving the producers and the network so much money, a break is nowhere near the future.

Anyway, season 9 has been spoiled since the blind audition of eventual winner Jordan Smith. Not that he is bad singer nor a terrible kid, but the obvious pimping from the coaches backed up with a great story line and edit is just the perfect recipe for his crown. Not to mention, he was an itunes jaggernaut seller!

But even if the season became lame and predictable, I must say there are really incredible performances that define this season of The Voice.

So with no further adieu, here are my subjective list of which I think were the 20 Best Performances of The Voice 9.

20. STYLE
Ivonne Acero
Blind Auditions

– From her tone alone, I fell in love with Ivonne from the moment she opened her mouth. It was rich, interesting and there’s a good quirk on it that is recognizable without being too polarizing. Was it a perfect audition? No. But it was memorable enough to stand out.

19. JEALOUS
Jeffery Austin
Top 10

– On my ears, Jeffery is the real stand out of the season. Save from his finale performances, he was the most consistent and probably a personal favorite of mine. His weakest of his best performances (his audition was good for honorable mention) on my list is his take on now popular Labyrinth’s hit, Jealous. His control is breathtaking. The dynamics he displayed is simply solid.

18. BRAND NEW GIRLFRIEND
Zach Seabaugh
Live Play-Offs

– Look, Zach isn’t the best vocalist on Team Blake but to my surprise everything work on him during this performance. The beginning was cool and then when the band kicks in, it was another level of energy and the hip grinding was just an added touch. He sounded good and there’s just an infinite charisma in his confidence on stage that was remarkable that night.

17. DANCING ON MY OWN
Jeffery Austin
Top 11

Dancing on my own is yet another reality show favorite to cover this year and Jeffery took a risk in doing such not so popular track. Again he sounded really good on the track and there is beauty in his storytelling that created a magical momentum from a now dark horse artist of the competition.

16. PART OF ME
Ivonne Acero
Knockouts

– Ivonne was screwed over when someone else is choosing songs for her. She nailed it when she did Katy Perry’s Part of me because aside from she chose the song, all the beauty of her tone and the great control that she showed is quite lovely.

15. SHE’S GOT YOU
Emily Ann Roberts
Top 10

– Beautiful! Just a sublime performance and I am saying this as a person who isn’t a country fan. The way she navigated her verses were lovely and there is just gorgeousness in the totality of her delivery.

14. WE DON’T HAVE TO TAKE OUR CLOTHES OFF
Ellie Lawrence
Blind Auditions

– Ellie is probably one of the most memorable auditions of the season. It is not as pimped as that of Jordan or underrated like that of Jeffery but it was well recognized, well received and well performed.

13. TURNING TABLES
Jeffery Austin
Knockouts

– Sam Smith during the auditions then Adele on his knockouts? Jeffery is giving me happy chills! Rightfully he did cover an underrated Adele song and gave it justice. It was beautiful, understated and just lovely in all moments.

12. GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN
Madi Davis
Top 10

– At first I was afraid that Madi would crash and burn just like what happened to Joey Cook (AI14) this year with the same song but there is something interestingly solid in Madi’s cover. She just kept an iconic 80s song and make it sound current. Sure it was a bit too dark but I digress.

11. LIPS ARE MOVIN’
Lyndsey Elm
Blind Auditions

– Lyndsey’s audition is solid! I enjoyed every bit of it. From tye quirky arrangement that she infused with her style yet keeping it with the original. The tone of her voice is lovely. The arrangement was interesting and her phrasing is just lovely.

10. MAKE IT RAIN
Jeffery Austin
Instant Save

– Once he started opening his mouth, I knew he rightfully deserve to be saved and sent through the finale. It wasn’t as gritty as Matt McAndrew or a diva version like that of Koryn Hawthorne but it was simply soulful with a nice touch of ad libs and the liberties he took were breathtaking.

9. THANK YOU
Andi & Alex
Blind Auditions

– It was ethereal. The combination of their voices were just beautiful! To me it was the best audition of the season. And it worked in all sorts of magical gorgeousness!

8. GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS
Jordan Smith
Top 12

– The simplicity in his delivery is what sold me especially in that first half. It was the perfect song choice and it gave us a more heartfelt insight of Jordan without any sorts of pimping from the coaches.

7. LET IT GO
Jeffery Austin
Top 12

– Jeffery is building up a steam for his resume and after that fantastic play-offs performance? I never really thought he would deliver yet another solid one! Taking James Bay’s Let it go, I thought it was a homerun. From his emotional connection to his fantastic dyanmics, Jeffery is just making it easy for me to love him more.

6. BLANK SPACE
Amy Vachal
Top 11

– Sure, I always thought Amy can deliver decent performances but could either be sleepy in the end or decently bland. But her take on this Taylor Swift megahit is surely her best to date. It was interesting, memorable and technically solid.

5. BELIEVE
Jeffery Austin
Top 9

– Sublime! I love how he slowed it down as it gave a more depth especially with what the song was trying to tell. And then Jeffery sung it beautifully with a gorgeous phrasing, not so over the top runs and the ending just sealed it!

4. A CASE OF YOU
Madi Davis
Knockouts

– Not gonna lie my benchmark for this song would always that amazing performance of James Wolpert (Season 5) but Madi gave a really competent take on it too. It was sublime, lovely and strong.

3. SAMSON
Korin Bukowski/Chase Kerby
Battle Rounds

– You may be surprised, but my favorite battle for this season is the gorgeous of this Korin-Chase duel! It was all sorts of loveliness. Their voices just blended well. It was like butter that is melting beautifully and I can’t really complain. Though not techically perfect, it is just so hard to resist!

2. SOMEBODY TO LOVE
Jordan Smith
Top 9

– Glorious! I always say he is definitely a fantastic vocalist but with the pimping I feel like his magic got taken a bit away but with this performance? I was just left in awe. It was unbeleivably stunning!

1. SAY YOU LOVE ME
Jeffery Austin
Live Play-Offs

– I’m done! Best. Of. The. Season. Thank You!

The Voice 9: Finale

The Voice 9 - Top 12

On a two night finale, I am expected stuff already. Like in the X Factor UK, just give Jordan Smith the crown as I feel like noone ever has standed the chance of taking it away from him.

Nonetheless, what is with the Christmas Songs? Who’s idea was it? Everyone struggled and I do hope the next season, they should banned these religious inspired songs as I feel like they are milking the religion card so much just to sell well on itunes.

Underwhelming finale and even my personal favorite struggled. Was it with exhaustion?

Anyway, night 1 we saw the finalists performed three songs: Christmas Song, Duet with their coach and one Cover. Night 2 is their bring back performances and a duet with a guest star.

Here’s how the finale went on.

CHRISTMAS SONGS

4. BARRETT BABER
O Holy Night
[Team BLAKE]

– Oh! Holy! No. 2

3. JEFFERY AUSTIN
Silent Night
[Team GWEN]

– What happened? Pitch all over the place. Flat. Sharp. Oooh. 3

2. EMILY ANN ROBERTS
Blue Christmas
[Team BLAKE]

– Boring. Forgettable. I dozed off even before she finished. 4

1. JORDAN SMITH
Mary, Did You Know?
[Team ADAM]

– Solid! Beautiful! Expected. I mean, did we even thought he won’t sound this good on such song? C’mon people! 8

COACH-ARTIST DUET

4. JORDAN SMITH w/ Adam Levine
God Only Knows
[Team ADAM]

– Yikes! 3

3. BARRETT BABER w/ Blake Shelton
Rhinestone Cowboy
[Team BLAKE]

– It’s like a country karaoke night! 4.5

2. EMILY ANN ROBERTS w/ Blake Shelton
Islands In The Stream
[Team BLAKE]

– Awkward! 5

1. JEFFERY AUSTIN w/ Gwen Stefani
Leather & Lace
[Team GWEN]

– What the f are these song choices! Ugh. At least Jeffery sounded real good here. 6

SOLO PERFORMANCES

4. JORDAN SMITH
Climb Ev’ry Mountain
[Team ADAM]

– There is something off about Jordan tonight that I can’t pinpoint. He was not as solid as he used to be and his take on Climb Ev’ry Mountain is a bit disappointed. It was sluggish, dated and forgettable. 4

3. BARRETT BABER
Die A Happy Man
[Team BLAKE]

– To think that he got here over Madi Davis or Amy Vachal still bugs me. But it is what it is and surprisingly Barrett delivered a competent vocal with Die a happy man! I still think I haven’t seen his full potential on the live shows that he showed during the early rounds. 6.5

2. EMILY ANN ROBERTS
Burning House
[Team BLAKE]

– Fantastic vocals! Her understated, sublime take on the song allowed us to enjoy her beautiful tone and simple, solid and emotional vocal performance. 7.5

1. JEFFERY AUSTIN
Stay
[Team GWEN]

– Jeffery took a gamble here and overturn a country song into a pop ballad. He started wobbly and a bit flat but once he picked up, it was a gorgeoys vocal performance from him! Great job. 8

RESULTS (Night 2)
Jeffery Austin (4th Place)
Barrett Baber (3rd Place)
Emily Ann Roberts (2nd Place)
Jordan Smith (Winner)

The Voice 9: Top 9

The Voice 9 - Top 12

From 9 to 4. Yup, the bloddbath will happen tomorrow night as the Top 9 artists will be 4 going to the finale happening next week.

I am not sure who thought this is the best idea of a format but I just really think this sucks. Lol.

Anyway, why do we even are holding this weekly competition when the pimping of Jordan Smith is not subtle at all. And why does they love these religious songs? Was it the perfect escape rope when they feel like the artist needed something to pull out mass votes? Haha.

Now here is how I rank the top 9 finalist.

9. BARRETT BABER
Ghost

[Team BLAKE]

– It was destined to be a trainwreck fromthe song choice alone but what I do like about this move of Barrett is that he showed versatility and that he can do crossover of pop-country eventually. Unfortunately, his breathing support took him down and the whole performance – though decent – felt more like a drunk guy singing karaoke. 6

8. SHELBY BROWN
Even God Must Get The Blues

[Team ADAM]

– Look, Shelby hits the right notes in most parts and even if she hit a couple of bad notes, I didn’t mind. But that is also my problem: I just didn’t mind. Shelby performed and at the end of the episode, I didn’t really care about her and it led me to think how also sleepy her performance is. Forgettable and sleepy? Not a good combination for me. 6

7. MADI DAVIS
Big Girls Don’t Cry

[Team PHARRELL]

– Is this really the right time for Madi to try Amy Vachal’s style? If so, she could only either be really, really good or fail miserably. In this case, I personally thought, this didn’t really work fully. Sure parts of it were commendable but I feel like I missed her. Her style, her fantastic vocals and her signature. This felt more like a copycat and end up being second rate. 6.5

6. EMILY ANN ROBERTS
9 To 5

[Team BLAKE]

– Emily has personality and was consistently performing to her potential. In fact, I think she’s the strongest out of the 3 Team Blake artists. While this was a different side of her from doing two slowed down country songs, Emily showed how personable and well she can be on that stage. Vocally, it was okay. 7

5. ZACH SEABAUGH
The Climb

[Team BLAKE]

– I seriously thought that Zach’s reason why he is still around is because of his good looks and hip gyrating. Vocally he is not the best in the competition but somehow tonight he showed a stronger side of vocalist he is. His voice soared in parts and even if some parts he fell flat, the overall tone of this Miley hit worked for him. Could he pull an upset? If it in terms of body work, I still think he didn’t deserve to go through but if it’s tonight? He deserves to sing for the save. 7.5

4. AMY VACHAL
To Make You Feel My Love

[Team ADAM]

– Amy exposes her gorgeous vocal in this simple, heartfelt rendition of To make you feel my love. The only thing that hinders this to be spectacularly great? It was sleepy in parts and Amy’s lazy vocal choices didn’t really put something special to remember about this. But still, I thought this was lovely! 7.5

3. BRAIDEN SUNSHINE
Amazing Grace

[Team GWEN]

– Who knew? I seriously cringe for the song choice but I guess desperate times will need to go through desperate measures no? Kidding! But who really knew that such song will work in Braiden’s vocal capability! And if we are just talking in Braiden’s other performances, this is his best to date. 7.5

2. JEFFERY AUSTIN
Believe

[Team GWEN]

– I had a mixed feeling about the song choice when I saw the spoilers but the change up on the song showed Jeffery’s strength as a storyteller and a solid vocalist. His voice was just soaring beautifully and naturally. The way he navigated the verses is so sublime and his voice just gives me massive chills! Great job. 8

1. JORDAN SMITH
Somebody To Love

[Team ADAM]

– He got a freakin’ CHOIR!!!! Yup, they wanted him to win. Haha. But other than the obvious pimping, Jordan slayed this perforamance beautifully! I’ve never been his huge fan but Jordan just nailed this performance. I felt him. He was coming through. His confidence showed on that stage and he sounded fantastic! 8.5

The Voice 9: Top 10

The Voice 9 - Top 12

It’s the Top 10 performing tonight. Pharrell is in his lifeline now with only one artist left in his team. Well you know what they say, you only need 1 to win the Voice. So he is still in it to win it. Haha! Ooops. Wrong judge?

Anyway, I thought overall, this is a solid night! I enjoyed most of them and some brought better performances from the previous week.

Now let us rank tonight’s performances.

10. BRAIDEN SUNSHINE
Radioactive
[Team GWEN]

– Uh. Oh. This was not that bad, but I am missing that grit or spunk from Braiden to make it a completely compelling performance. His vocals were better than I initially expected though. 5

9. SHELBY BROWN
Go Rest High On That Mountain
[Team ADAM]

– Is just me or she really sounded a bit sharp in most parts? Look, this sounds like a song right in Shelby’s wheelhouse but her vocals suffered (for me) as she rushes some of the verses and yet the delivery seems sluggish. 5.5

8. EMILY ANN ROBERTS
She’s Got You
[Team BLAKE]

– I prefer her last week as this week’s performance is quite on the nose. The vocals were generic and sometimes felt a bit pageant-y. 6

7. ZACH SEABAUGH
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
[Team BLAKE]

– Look, the thrusting and hip movements could have just overpopulated the world in another level but there is something about Zach’s comfort on stage and great presence that he is selling what he singing well – even if his vocals isn’t really the best out of the bunch. 6

6. AMY VACHAL
Bye, Bye, Bye
[Team ADAM]

– Okay. Let me get straight to the point and say that I didn’t really like it as much as I wish I did. I love the song and I was excited as I thought Amy has a way of making songs her own spin and put if not fresh, something interesting. But the overall of Bye, Bye, Bye is a combination of lazy vocals and bland stage work from Amy. Her vocals were draggingly sleepy and the arrangemeng didn’t excite me at all. 6

5. JORDAN SMITH
Hallelujah
[Team ADAM]

– Can we also retire this song? Haha. Jordan once again sounded good but I feel like I have heard better cover of this song which is a sad thing. His high register was a bit shrill and some verses were breathy. 6.5

4. MADI DAVIS
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
[Team PHARRELL]

– Brave thing about the arrangement and I think Madi and Amy share that spot in the competition and one of them will eventually get cut. Tonight, I thought Madi gave better vocals, better arrangement and better delivery. Sure, there are parts that sounded like misfit, but she made it sound like it was hers. 7

3. KORIN BUKOWSKI
Same Old Love
[Team GWEN]

– Woah. I initially written her off but I thought she bounced back with this performance. And it will be a shame if she ends up in the bottom again tomorrow. She sounded fantastic on this and I never really thought it will work. The vocals were lovely. She had sass and maybe a little more work on her stage presence, this will be fantastic! 7.5

2. BARRET BABER
I’d Just Love To Lay You Down
[Team BLAKE]

– Honest, simple, lovely. I am not the biggest country fan but Barrett sold this performance to me quite well. His vocals were better than any of his past performances recently and there is just something home-y in here that is compelling and remarkable! 7.5

1. JEFFERY AUSTIN
Jealous
[Team GWEN]

– The understated vocals, his well connected delivery and the phrasing that is top notch gorgeous just gave Jeffery yet another fantastic performance tonight! And I hope him performing first wouldn’t hurt him in the votes but I will say that this beautiful rendition is simply amazing. He showed great dynamics. His ending was breathtaking and how he navigated his verses? just lovely! 8.5

The Voice 9: Top 11

The Voice 9 - Top 12

It’s the top 11 performing before the massive bloodbath will happen very soon. I still can’t fathom that idea and where and why did they thought of doing that massive eliminations. Ugh. Sometimes, The Voice really gives me headache.

Also, the song spoilers left me with the realization that Pharrell just gives the most dated song choices ever. And he is doing a “Luke Wade” treatment on Evan McKeel no? I feel bad because that guy was once a front runner favorite and can really sing but he is – just like Luke before – saddled with these old, dated & baffling song choices.

Also, can these coaches say anything  other than the repetitive “you moved me”, “you can win this season” etc.. maybe some comstructive criticisms guys?!

Anyway on with the show.

11. ZACH SEABAUGH
Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not
[Team BLAKE]

– He was singing off key the whole time no? 2

10. BARRETT BABER
Delta Dawn
[Team BLAKE]

– This didn’t really do any favors for Barrett at all. 3

9. EVAN MCKEEL
Smile
[Team PHARRELL]

– Boring. Bland. Forgettable. 5

8. BRAIDEN SUNSHINE
True
[Team GWEN]

– Sure, he hits a couple of bad notes but somehow there is a part of this performance where Braiden sounded pretty. 6

7. KORIN BUKOWSKI
Only Hope
[Team GWEN]

– The first half sounded terrific but once she hit the chorus until the bridge, she just lost it. I know Korin has some amazing range but her performances are just lacking until now. 6.5

6. SHELBY BROWN
You & I
[Team ADAM]

– While I thought this would be a “moment” for her, Shelby didn’t really give anything extraordinary or special in here. It could be wise for Adam and her to show her versatility but I feel like despite some good moments, it was a throaway performance from her. 6.5

5. JORDAN SMITH
Who You Are
[Team ADAM]

– Jordan has a nice voice and while I thought this will be another opportunity for him to deliver but after his performance I just felt cold. It felt underwhelming. His vocals weren’t spot on. But still I think this is good enough. 7

4. MADI DAVIS
Love Is Blindness
[Team PHARRELL]

– The arrangement, song and overall production could be a bit polarizing but there is no denying that Madi sounded beautiful. There is power yet emotional depthness from her that is admirable. 7.5

3. EMILY ANN ROBERTS
Why Not Me
[Team BLAKE]

– I have never been a fan of country music but Emily is undeniably the strongest artist in Team Blake. She’s charming and full of personality, and it translates well with her performance. Not to mention, she sounded pretty good and her verses were solid! 7.5

2. AMY VACHAL
Blank Space
[Team ADAM]

– It was inventive, risky but I thought this was miles better than last week. Sure she sounded too airy in parts but I don’t mind as the end result was actually good. 7.5

1. JEFFERY AUSTIN
Dancing On My Own
[Team GWEN]

– In a pool of talented artist, Jeffery pulled out another soulful, emotionally connected and solid vocal performance. His vocals were gorgeous and how nuanced her delivery is is quite remarkable. Great job! 8

The Voice 9: Live Shows (Top 12)

So we’re finally here, the top 12 were revealed last week and though we lost some early front runners and crowd favorites, I think we have a pool of diverse artists to concentrate on.

Tonight is the start of the live shows and I am pissed off on these song choices. These are so dated and tired with only few excemptions. I am also a bit underwhelmed with tonight’s episode and I am just hoping this is just early jitters cause if this will be the case week in, week out.. then hand Jordan Smith the trophy already.

Nonetheless here is how I rank the Top 12.
tonight.

12. BRAIDEN SUNSHINE
Renegades
[Team GWEN]

– Such a shame. Sure the vocals were not as bad as I perceived it to be but it was weak and at the end of it, he faltered and the stretch were painful to listen. 4

11. MARK HOOD
Against All Odds
[Team PHARRELL]

– Tired and dated song choice. The choice exposed the weaknesses in Mark’s vocals. His pitch is uneven. Some runs are unnecessary. The perfomance is such a blah. 4

10. ZACH SEABAUGH
My Love
[Team BLAKE]

– I enjoyed Zach last week but this week is really underwhelming. It was like a decent karaoke version with the performance going nowhere. 4

9. BARRETT BABER
Right Here Waiting
[Team BLAKE]

– Vocally it was yet again decent showing from Barrett but I don’t think the performance has gained him more believers. At the end of the episode, I just can’t really remember the wholeness of his performance that I had to rewatch it again. 4.5

8. EMILY ANN ROBERTS
Blame It On Your Heart
[Team BLAKE]

– Emily is a decent singer and tonight she didn’t really showed anything else anymore. So I’m a bit underwhelmed and thinking if she can show more. Not bad but bot exciting too. 5

7. Korin Bukowski
Titanium
[Team GWEN]

– Yes Korin’s vocals weren’t perfect but her restraint moments were gorgeous enough and the choices she did with her verses were actually good but then it wasn’t well supported so there are parts where her pitch was not that on point. 6

6. AMY VACHAL
Hotline Bing
[Team ADAM]

– Props to her artistic style but the whole thing is quite a snoozefest. Her vocals were uneven. The key is pitch too under for her. There are parts where her voice got drowned a bit in the background. Although she had some moments too. 6

5. EVAN MCKEEL
This Is It
[Team PHARRELL]

– Though the song choice is dated, I cannot really fault on Evan’s vocals. He really has a nice voice and Pharrell should take advantage on that. But with the likes of this song choice, Pharrell is just screwing him over. He needs something current, fresh and inspired song choice because Evan can exist in the current pop music genre. 6.5

4. SHELBY BROWN
In Color
[Team ADAM]

– Shelby delivered a solid performance although expected. I wish Adam would give Shelby a chance to explore other genres as she can really deliver. To begin with, Shelby auditioned with “Stars” which is not a country song no? 7

3. MADI DAVIS
Who Will Save You
[Team PHARRELL]

– Madi made the most out of her song choice and even if I felt like it was just a throwaway performance and song choice, she still sounded pretty and strong! 7.5

2. JORDAN SMITH
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
[Team ADAM]

– Bringing the Jesus card this early? As if Jordan needs it as he is really doing well with it right now on both itunes sales and charts. He is pimped quite well too. This is solemn, honest and vocally competent! I must say, he actually pretty good and even if I hate it when they use the religious/faith card, this is well deserved in terms of vocals and performance from Jordan! 8

1. JEFFERY AUSTIN
Let It Go
[Team GWEN]

– Fantastic, soulful and vocally superb! Jeffery showed some nuanced and yet delivered a powerful and beautiful rendition of this James Bay hit. Plus it is current and contemporary giving us a glimpse that Jeffery is marketable today. 8.5

The Voice 9: Live PlayOffs (2)

So last night was a pretty decent start for live shows albeit some uncontrolled nerves that shook up some performances. Tonight, the Live PlayOffs continue with Team Pharrell & Team Blake taking centerstage.

Pharrell’s team is a diverse one so I am excited with how this will turn out. Of course we all know Pharrell in past seasons chooses the most dated song choices but basing on the song spoilers, we had a variety of choices this time. Thank God! Oh, his wildcard choice is Celeste Betton by the way.

As for Blake. Yep, it’s a country team! I cannot even fathom that he almost got a whole team of country singers. If not only for Ivonne Acero and his wildcard choice, Nadjah Nicole.. this will be one countrified Team Blake! Lol. So I am really afraid for the chances of Nadjah and especially Ivonne for the Top 12.

Anyway, here is how the night 2 of the PlayOffs went on:

TEAM PHARRELL

6. DARIUS SCOTT
Love Lockdown

– Darius started fine but once he picked up, everything just fell all over the place. Such a shame. 5

5. CELESTE BETTON
Something In The Water

– Celeste can sing but her delivery of this Carrie Underwood tune is a bit of disappointing. Her vocals were a bit shaky. Her depth is quite uneven that it didn’t give us that impact to wow. 6

4. MARK HOOD
What Do You Mean

– Just like Darius, Mark started really well. I mean it was a gorgeous beginning but then he decided in his best interest todo some unnecessary runs and ad libs that felt too much on this Bieber ditty. 6

3. RILEY BIEDERER
Should’ve Been Us

– There’s something beautiful on her delivery that I adore. Her tone is quite lovely though the vocals were not perfect. She hit some good glory notes. 7

2. EVAN MCKEEL
Overjoyed

– It didn’t felt like the gorgeousness of his acapella version during the Blinds, but I must say, Evan still was able to hit all the right notes. His phrasing is gorgeous. His voice is simply lovely. I must agree with Gwen though, he needs to let go more and be natural. 7.5

1. MADI DAVIS
Songbird

– Fantastic! Simple, honest and stunning vocals. 8

— –
TEAM BLAKE

6. NADJAH NICOLE
Upside Down

– Dated, cheesy, underwhelming. Why did Blake saddled her with such song choice?! Sigh. 5

5. MORGAN FRAZIER
Lips Of An Angel

– This wasn’t even bad at all but it was forgettable. 6

4. EMILY ANN ROBERTS
In The Garden

– The vocals were weaker than her usual but this will sell pretty good to the usual viewers of the show. But I thought this wasn’t as good as the usual performance of Emily. 6.5

3. IVONNE ACERO
One Of Us

– The vocals are not perfect but his dynamics and voca choices were decently good. Her pitch is beautiful and she’s more comfortable than ever. Great job! 7

2. BARRETT BABER
I Drive Your Truck

– Nothing can deny that Barrett can deliver quite well. His vocals were gorgeous and his pitch is spot on. He also has some good stage charisma that easily appeals. 7

1. ZACH SEABAUGH
Brand New Girlfriend

– Say what you want about Zach but he just realy delivery a confident, comfortable and solid performance. That gyration is an added touch as he showed that he is ready for this. Sure the vocals were just decent but it was a fun little performance from a good looking Zach. 7.5
