It’s the first night of the Live PlayOffs and as we all know there are some changes happening on the show. First up, VOTING are now exclusively for online such as in the The Voice App and iTunes downloads. Second is the introduction of the new WILDCARD TWIST where each coach will bring back one eliminated artist to join his/her team omce again.
First to tonight’s Live PlayOffs are Team Adam & Team Gwen. We will welcome Ellie Lawrence as Gwen’s Wild Card while Adam picked young singer, Chance Peña as his wildcard choice. On Wednesday’s result show, half of each team will go home! Scarrry.
Now on to the show.
TEAM ADAM
6. KEITH SEMPLE
To Be With You
– There’s nothing really bad in any of Team Adam’s acts last night. It is just Keith’s performance felt the weakest out of his team. His voice goes thin during the high notes but it was still a decent, good overall performance from Keith. 6.5
5. BLAINE MITCHELL
Never Tear Us Apart
– It was I think a perfect fit for Blaine as he was able to show his ability to command the stage and work on how good his vocals. Unfortunately for some parts, he can’tmix both up and one has to give way for the other to really shine. 7
4. AMY VACHAL
The Way You Look Tonight
– Gorgeous vocals. Lovely tone. But I felt at some point the whole thing was a bit lazy and sleepy. 7
3. CHANCE PEÑA
Barton Hollow
– Surprisingly, the song choice worked so well for Chance. It was like far from the disaster his KOs was. The texture in his voice is fantastic. That grit worked so well and he had found a more confident stage presence that is lacking before. 7
2. SHELBY BROWN
You’re No Good
– Sure she hit a couple of wobbly notes in the beginning but once Shelby picked up, she never looked back. Her vocals were still her biggest asset and she’s more comfortable now. 7
1. JORDAN SMITH
Halo
– Vocally, it was superb. He was able to infused new style, new vocal ad libs and some gorgeous risks with his voice. But there is something lacking and I can’t pinpoint it but Jordan is a force to reckon with in this competition. He just sings so good! 7.5

TEAM GWEN
6. REGINA LOVE
Hello
– Disaster! I know I have been asking for Regina to give us something current but she just overdone this new Adele song. She lacks control. She was underpitch in most parts. Sigh. 3
5. BRAIDEN SUNSHINE
Everything I Own
– Cheesy, decent karaoke delivery from Braiden. 4
4. KORIN BUKOWSKI
Adia
– Why now Korin? The song choice was perfect for her I think albeit too on the nose but her lack of confidence showed here as she hit a couple of sharp & flat notes. But still the power of her voice is simply gorgeous. I hope Gwen chose a more familiar song for her though. I am now afraid she will not reach the Top 12 especially with Ellie back, another quirky voice like her. 6.5
3. ELLIE LAWRENCE
Ex’s & Oh’s
– This is miles better than her KOs. Gwen should always choose songs for her. This was fun, exciting and right on Ellie’s alley. Her vocals were fine. She was playful and confident. 7
2. VIKTOR KIRALY
All Around The World
– Viktor proved that he is a made star. He showed it here. His stage presence is oozing with so much confidence and he is distrubingly so beautiful! Although his voice wasn’t in his strongest element, it was still a different side of him that I thought worked. 7
1. JEFFERY AUSTIN
Say You Love Me
– Jeffery is the underrated artist on the show period. He is flying under the radar and they should take him seriously as a competitor as he just delivers everytime! This is yet another solid showing from him. His vocals – not perfect – is oozing with so much power and soul. His connection is spot on. Great job! 8
