It’s curtain call for the 10th season of The Voice and even if Adam Wakefield of Team Blake has presented himself as a threat to the inevitable win of Alisan Porter, I still think she got this on the bag. With early pimping, the producers wanting to break the girl curse and a lot of celebrities rooting for Alisan, there is no way Curly Sue won’t win the crown.
Anyway as for the final showdown of the top 4, I find it a bit underwhelming. Probably because I was looking for something exciting and variety. Nonetheless, it is what it is and we were treated with some really good – predictable – performances.
Oh, I am a bit excited with next season. I wonder what will Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys bring in as the new coaches.
Now on to the rankings.
COVER SONGS
[4] LAITH AL-SAADI
White Room
Team ADAM
– It is what is expected from Laith. Nothing really new. Not bad at all. 6
[3] ADAM WAKEFIELD
When I Call Your Name
Team BLAKE
– Like Laith, this is something you predictably get from Adam! While predictable, his gorgeous tone really stands out. 7
[2] HANNAH HUSTON
Every Breath You Take
Team PHARRELL
– Props to the risk they took on the arrangement of the stalker song. It’s interesting. A bit acquired. But I like that it wasn’t expected. 7.5
[1] ALISAN PORTER
Somewhere
Team CHRISTINA
– Undeniably, the strongest out of 4. Her vocals were solid and spot on. 8
ORIGINAL SONG
[4] ALISAN PORTER
Down That Road
Team CHRISTINA
– Generic. Predictable. This isn’t bad and this showed probably what kind of artist will be post-The Voice but I, on a personal level, just didn’t feel it. 6
[3] LAITH AL-SAADI
Morning Light
Team ADAM
– Same with Alisan. It is the usual Laith. The single isn’t bad but it is not groundbreaking too. 6
[2] ADAM WAKEFIELD
Lonesome, Broken & Blues
Team BLAKE
– Raw and has potential. While just like the singles of Laith and Alisan, Adam played with his strengths. But what I adore in this is the potential of it to do well in country radio. Probably, Adam’s tone is what I enjoy the most from here. 7
[1] HANNAH HUSTON
I Call The Shots
Team PHARRELL
– Surprisingly, I know not all people will agree with me, Hannah’s single is what I liked best. Not the most hook friendly single but it has tons of potential. The chorus is quite repetitive but it works and Hannah’s tone is solid here. Maybe the rhythm needed rework but I digress. I enjoyed this. 7.5
